Tone-on-tone colouring, what is it?

Haven't you ever seen anyone on the street with yellow, orange or even greenish hair? Unwanted reflections in highlighted hair are quite common, especially a few weeks after the bleaching procedure. Even in some cases, right after bleaching, it's possible to spot some unwanted shades. Tone-on-tone colouring was created for this too! With it, we can completely eliminate these reflections without damaging the hair, since it's a very low-chemically aggressive colour. But that's not all! Tone-on-tone colouring can and should also be used on virgin hair to add that cosmetic shine that will make all the difference! With it, we can add luminosity to the hair without altering its natural colour. It's also an excellent option for covering the first grey hairs! Tone-on-tone colouring can't lighten hair, but it can darken it, making it an excellent alternative to permanent colouring, especially for the first few times. How to maintain tone-on-tone coloured hair? We recommend using a specific line for coloured hair.

Can pregnant women do progressive brushing and straightening?

Every day we receive messages with these questions: - I'm pregnant, can I straighten my hair?- I'm breastfeeding, can I do a progressive brush? First of all, I'd like you to know that I'm also a mum, so I've already been through this very beautiful and special period in a woman's life! As such, this is a question that I pay particular attention to... This is a subject that is much discussed, and the truth is that there is not yet enough data to be able to answer it with certainty. It is already public knowledge that straightening and progressive brushes containing formaldehyde are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, even if they have the minimum concentration permitted by Infarmed. What hasn't yet been scientifically proven is whether or not other formaldehyde-free straighteners based on active ingredients other than formaldehyde, such as amino acids and other acids, are harmful to babies. The truth is that all compounds that are applied to the skin, and in this case the scalp, can be absorbed by the body and enter the bloodstream, thus reaching the baby, and can be harmful to the baby. In addition, hair straightening or progressive brushing can release vapours, which can also be harmful to the baby if inhaled. These facts apply to both pregnant and breastfeeding mums. Although we know that many people straighten their hair under these conditions, and we know that the risk of anything happening is minimal, given that the amount of these ingredients absorbed by the body is very small, we do not recommend it. We are also aware that there are some doctors with different opinions to what we recommend, saying that formaldehyde-free hair straightening can be done in these phases. And when this is the case, when a positive written opinion from a doctor is presented, we carry it out. Otherwise, we prefer to ensure everyone's safety and that mums-to-be keep their natural hair until they stop breastfeeding. We don't think it's ethical to advocate straightening without being absolutely sure of the implications. So what do we advise while you're pregnant or breastfeeding? To make your hair look more beautiful and moisturised, we recommend that you opt for other moisturising, reconstructing or nourishing services to help reduce frizz! Of course, you're not going to straighten your hair... Only a straightening treatment will do... In our salon we have an excellent option for this - Philip Martin's Organic Rituals. These are treatments with products from organic farming, without toxic chemicals, which is great for pregnancy or breastfeeding. These treatments have no contraindications and leave your hair beautiful and shiny, with much less frizz. Of course, they're not straightening or progressive brushes. If your hair is curly, it will still be curly. I hope this has helped many women in their decision!

How does laser straightening work?

I'm going to tell you how laser straightening works and what the effects are of this mysterious device that my team and I use every day, known as photon hair, and which works miracles on hair! So what is this blue laser device anyway? This device, which we call a laser, is actually a blue LED light. This light does not cause any heat whatsoever and can be passed over the skin at will. This light has a wavelength of 450nm, which accelerates the chemical reactions of cosmetic products. In reality, it has no smoothing effect. It enhances the effect of the smoothing compounds found in the product applied. This is why the laser straightening procedure is similar to other progressive straighteners, except that a product with specific characteristics is used for this purpose, and the laser is used. This device is not a substitute for any other, so you will always have to use straightening irons. Of course, it won't be necessary in everyday life. Later in this article I'll also explain how your hair will look after straightening! It's not bad for your health, it doesn't damage your hair or have any contraindications. Only eye protection goggles need to be worn, both for the client and the technician carrying out the service. This laser can fulfil several functions: Reduces the time it takes to apply products; Gives hair more shine; Increases the fixation of colours; Accentuates the effect of moisturising and straightening; Restructures the hair fibre, leaving it ready for new chemical processes; Increases the penetration capacity of products. It's for all these reasons that we use this laser in our straightening treatments! This device really does make all the difference and is primarily responsible for the fame of Michele Encke laser straightening, making it last longer than normal, hair smoother and with more shine. What's more, it allows the hair to be washed on the same day as the procedure in the salon, whereas with a conventional progressive straightening, you generally have to wait 3 days before you can wash it. Find out more information and prices for Michele Encke Laser Straightening. Laser straightening and its benefits After laser straightening, your hair is 100% straight! However, it's a natural straight colour, without the flowing straightness that most people don't like. What's more, unlike most progressive straighteners, you won't need to use a hairdryer every day. According to the experience of most of our clients, air-drying leaves hair straight. And now comes the question we get asked every day: How long does laser straightening last? The information we give is always an estimate, taking into account an average that we have already studied with our clients. But the truth is that laser hair straightening can last up to a year. What we advertise is an average durability of 6 to 8 months, but we have clients who only do it every year. Of course, it depends on the type of hair and the effect you want. If you have very curly hair, as soon as your hair grows 2 to 3 cm, you notice too much difference between it and the rest of the hair that has already been straightened. For these people we have the option of straightening only the roots. For the rest of us who don't have such frizzy hair, laser straightening can last a long time! Differences between natural, organic and vegan cosmetics

The market is full of cosmetic products, from supermarkets to perfumeries, beauty salons, hairdressers and pharmacies. Consumers are increasingly looking for healthy products. On the other hand, I know there's a lot of confusion in most people's minds about natural cosmetics. After reading this article, you'll know a lot more about the differences between natural, organic and vegan cosmetics. Although it may seem to the unaware that they are all the same thing, there are big differences between them! First of all, I'd like to give you a warning about this topic and article: the legislation has not yet fully defined what constitutes a natural or organic cosmetic, and therefore everything I'm writing here may change. What's more, we feel that some companies are taking advantage of the lack of legislation to make certain types of advertising, saying that their products are natural/organic, when in fact they only have a few natural/organic compounds... What you should realise right now is that you're unlikely to find a natural 100% cosmetic produced and distributed industrially. Generally, these products always contain synthetic substances. There are some organisations that regulate this market and certify this type of product. I'll use Ecocert's definition to explain what each type of cosmetic is, although this classification may differ slightly from organisation to organisation. What is a natural cosmetic? According to Ecocert, a natural cosmetic is a cosmetic in which at least 95% of its raw materials come from natural sources. The remaining 5% can be of synthetic origin, although these ingredients are regulated. Only some of the synthetic ingredients can be used. What is an organic cosmetic? An organic cosmetic is a cosmetic whose composition is at least 95% based on organic substances, and the remaining 5% can be synthetic in the same way as natural cosmetics. Therefore, an organic cosmetic is necessarily considered natural. The opposite is not true. A natural cosmetic may not be organic. Have you already visited our online shop for natural cosmetics? Click here and discover our wide range of products at exclusive online prices! What's the difference between natural cosmetics and organic cosmetics The point is that a natural cosmetic has at least 95% of natural products in its composition, but these materials are not necessarily organic. For something to be considered an organic raw material, it has to be produced in accordance with international directives on organic farming products. I'm sure you've seen those BIO products in the supermarket. That's right, they are! To be considered organic, organic cosmetics must be made from raw materials grown in organic farming. What is a vegan cosmetic? A vegan cosmetic is a cosmetic that does not use animal products in its formulation. It therefore has nothing to do with being natural or organic. A Vegan cosmetic may not be considered natural because it uses synthetic ingredients in higher concentrations than 5%. On the other hand, being Vegan doesn't mean it's not tested on animals either! To make sure this isn't the case, you should look for the Cruelty Free certification. In any case, any cosmetic that is produced within Europe is no longer tested on animals, because the legislation doesn't allow it. Allergies and health problems Another of the great confusions on the market is in relation to allergies and health problems caused by cosmetics. If a cosmetic is considered organic or natural, it doesn't mean that it won't cause allergies or be harmful to health. Depending on the person, an organic cosmetic can cause allergies and even be harmful to your health, so be aware of this! On the other hand, it doesn't mean that a cosmetic that isn't organic or natural is bad for your health or causes allergies. This differentiation between natural, organic and synthetic cosmetics is only related to the origin of their ingredients, and not to the likelihood of allergies or other issues. What is important to know is that all cosmetics on the market must be rigorously tested. Preferably opt for cosmetics that have been dermatologically tested. What's more, it's up to Infarmed to regulate the cosmetics market, checking what is or isn't a risk to public health. How to choose a cosmetic when buying If you want to be sure of what you're consuming, you should look for cosmetics with the appropriate certifications from the relevant organisations. However, there are natural, organic and vegan cosmetics that are not certified by any of these organisations. These certifications are quite expensive and there are brands that don't want to pay for them. There are also artisanal productions that don't even have the financial capacity to pay for such certifications. You can also find out about the various ingredients that these organisations allow, and read the labels on the packaging. It's a more difficult task, but it's not impossible! In this document issued by Ecocert, you can see all the ingredients that can be used, as well as the method of obtaining them and other relevant information. All labels must describe the composition of the product, with the first ingredients listed being those that the product contains in the highest concentration, and the last in the lowest. There are several ingredients you should pay special attention to when buying a cosmetic, especially as they may not help the health of your skin or hair. The main ones to avoid are Parabens; Sulphates; Petroleum derivatives. Cosmetic brands I recommend There are many brands of natural and organic cosmetics you can choose from, even in the supermarket. The brands I recommend, as well as being natural or organic, have professional-level results. In other words, they have proven results in terms of their effect. It's quite easy to make a natural shampoo, or

Women's haircuts 2020 | Trends

It's always a challenge to predict a year's trends! In this article we present the trends in women's haircuts for 2020, according to what is most in demand in our salons, and the cuts that are most seen on models, actresses and fashion-related people. Chanel haircuts | A trend for 2020 After the long bob trend, which in recent years has been the most popular, now the trend will be a shorter, Chanel-type haircut. This is a chin-length cut, but the trend for 2020 is to cut it short and leave a side fringe. You could say it's a mix between a long bob and a Chanel. I've really fallen for these short women's cuts because they're so much more practical for everyday life! Whereas long hair requires a lot of time to maintain on a daily basis, I feel that short hair always looks beautiful without much effort. Short women's haircuts 2020 Short women's haircuts will also be on the rise in 2020, but with a frayed side fringe and plenty of volume. So you can leave your hair quite short on one side and let a fringe fall on the other side. It's a very practical option, as you wake up in the morning almost combed. These cuts can be done on any type of hair, and they look great and different! Would you like to book a cut at our salons? Medium long bob haircuts If you don't want to go for a radical cut and end up with very short hair, you can always go for a long bob, where the hair is shoulder-length, but without a noticeable straight line. In other words, your hair will be slightly longer at the front, which will give you a more modern look. Battered nape with a fringe Short haircuts with a battered nape will also be used a lot, but with a fringe on the side. This is a type of Chanel that is shorter at the nape of the neck, but asymmetrical, as it has a fringe on the side. For those who don't want to keep their hair shorter at all! Medium straight women's haircuts Haircuts in which the hair is completely straightened will be used a lot, whether it's a pixie cut or a straight cut, which will give the hair more movement and dynamics! V-shaped haircuts One of the most requested haircuts in our spaces is the V-shaped cut, which looks great on long hair! Fringes again! Fringes will also be a trend again. These are great for shaping faces. They can be asymmetrical, like the big fringe, or even those shorter fringes that were worn many years ago! The important thing is that it suits you! Although these haircuts are the trend for 2020, it's very important that you get a cut that suits you! To do this, you should seek the help of your hairdresser, who will analyse your face according to the Visagism method and see which cut is best for you, taking into account the shape of your face. Book now! Come and get your hair cut at our salons?

Types of straightening, advantages and disadvantages

There are many types of hair straightening, which leaves consumers with a lot of difficulties when it comes to choosing! Everyone wonders what kind of straightening I should choose for my hair! What are the advantages of progressive brushing over permanent straightening? What we're going to try to clarify in this article is the main types of straightening that exist on the market, explaining their main differences, advantages and disadvantages. This article is really an explanation, it's not directly linked to the services we do in our salons. We're talking about some straighteners here that we don't even do in our salons. We're going to talk more specifically about four types of straightening: progressive brushing, permanent or Japanese straightening, relaxing and laser straightening. Progressive brushing Progressive brushing generally lasts between 3 and 6 months. It works very well on the hair, but it is thermo-active, meaning you always have to use a hairdryer every day to get the straightening effect. As a general rule, this brush does not leave hair 100% straight. Progressive brushes generally have 3 steps: anti-residue shampoo, smoothing cream and finishing mask. The active ingredient in these progressive brushes is usually glyoxylic acid. These straighteners can be with or without formaldehyde. We believe that formaldehyde should not be used, as it is harmful to health. With these progressive brushes, apart from a few exceptions, you have to go three days without washing your hair so that the product continues to have an effect. During these three days, it's important not to tie your hair up or tuck it behind your ear. During the straightening process, the hair must be flat ironed in very fine strands. There is also a pause time of between 30 and 60 minutes, which means it takes between 2 and 3 hours, depending on the hair and the technician carrying out the process. For coloured hair, there is the possibility of the hair changing up to 3 shades, i.e. becoming blonder, with yellowish, orange or greenish highlights. Generally, progressive brushing can be done on any type of hair, even on highlighted or coloured hair. It's important to always tell the technician what processes you've had done before, so that he can make sure it's compatible and the condition of the hair. In our salon, this service is called Slett formaldehyde-free straightening, and it has some specific features that you should know about by clicking on the link! Permanent or Japanese straightening Permanent straightening, which is also commonly called Japanese straightening, really does leave your hair 100% permanently straight, and you don't need to use a hairdryer every day. Generally, the hair is left with a "flowing straight" effect. When we talk about permanent, we are always referring to hair that has undergone the straightening process. The root will grow back naturally, with the same shape and type of hair as before. On the other hand, if it's permanent, the hair that has undergone the process will never go back to the way it was before. It will remain straight forever. Generally, the active ingredient in this type of straightening is ammonium thiogliocate, which means that it can only be done on natural hair and is not compatible with any other type of chemical. Therefore, no colouring or highlights can be done before or after this process. Since nowadays almost all hair has some kind of chemical in it, even if it was a long time ago, it is always advisable to do a strand test before straightening. These straighteners usually have three steps: shampoo, straightening cream and neutraliser. There may be brands that work with more steps. The process also uses a flat iron, in the same way as a progressive brush, and the process lasts between 2 and 3 hours. The hair is ready the same day and can be washed or straightened as soon as desired. Relaxing This process is very similar to permanent straightening, and generally uses the same active ingredient (ammonium thiogliocate), but is less concentrated. Therefore, in this case too, it is advisable to do a strand test before the process. The main differences between the two are that in this case, there is no need to flat iron and the pause time is shorter. This achieves a relaxing effect rather than a straightening effect. In other words, your hair won't be 100% straight. This hair relaxer can be used to open up very tight curls, or to leave hair straight but with some wave. It generally consists of three steps: shampoo, straightening cream and neutraliser. Laser straightening In this case we're talking about Michele Encke laser straightening, which is done in our salons. This straightening lasts 6 to 8 months, and you don't have to blow-dry your hair every day. The hair is 100% straight, with a natural effect. This straightening consists of just one step, so the straightening cream is applied straight away to dry hair. No prior treatment is required. Laser straightening is done with a photonic device that emits light at a certain wave frequency, which acts as a catalyst for chemical reactions, i.e. it speeds up the process, making the straightening more effective, it lasts longer and the hair looks shinier. Despite being called a laser, this light has nothing to do with the laser used in waxing or other treatments. It's more like a led light, which doesn't cause any discomfort or increase in temperature. What's more, this straightening is compatible with any other type of chemical treatment done before or after this process, so it can be done on hair with highlights or colouring. In the case of this straightening, the hair is ready on the day of the process and can be washed as soon as you wish. You won't need to wash it for three days or tie it up. There may also be a change in colour, in the same way as progressive brushes. We therefore recommend that if you are thinking of colouring your hair or doing highlights, you do so
